Activate Your Clients to Oppose H.R. 985

Congress is considering a bill that would eliminate nearly every type of class action and mass tort brought in the United States.  The so-called "Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2017" [H.R. 985] would deny groups of injured workers, consumers, patients, investors, and small businesses of their right to join together to hold the responsible party accountable in court.

Before Congress votes on H.R. 985, it is imperative that they hear from the people who would be impacted the most by this legislation - your clients.

Help us increase engagement in the campaign to defeat H.R. 985 by doing the following:

1. Send an email to your clients about the bill and ask them to take action - Download a sample email to clients here.

2. Share your clients' stories with us - We are looking for compelling, personal stories about people who have sought justice through class actions or mass torts. If you have a great case, please email Charlotte McBirney (Charlotte.McBirney@justice.org).

3. Call your members of Congress - Click here to call their offices in D.C.

4. Write your members of Congress – Click here to send them an email.

5. Let us know what you have done and if you want to do more - Please email Sarah Jones (Sarah.Jones@justice.org) on the Take Justice Back team.
